Work From Home Learn To Protect Yourself

Many people are turning to the Internet to earn extra cash while working from the comfort of their home. The Internet has leveled the playing field allowing almost anyone with a computer and access to the Internet to have a chance at earning a substantial income.

One of the problems that prevent even more people from attaining success is that many scam artists are lurking online waiting to relieve you of some hard earned cash. Don't get me wrong there are many good programs, but you have to do your research and take every precaution when joining online programs.


I decided to write and article on ways one can add more protection for both their identity and credit card or financial information. Here are a few basics that I recommend that you do, if possible, when ordering anything online:

1. Use a separate e-mail address for your online activity. Most isp providers will allow (5) five or more different email addresses and will help you set them up if asked. Why? Well if you are like most of us and your e-mail address gets out and your spammed daily, you can simply change your e-mail address and delete the old one. Very easy way of keeping you're personal e-mail address private for friends, family and your personal banking transactions.

2. Always ensure when purchasing something online with your credit card that the first part of the url in your browser window has https://. For example, https://www.xxxxx.com

3. PayPal is another good way to protect yourself. Not only do they give you protection on your purchases, but you can also attach a credit card with your PayPal account. This gives you two levels of protections. One from PayPal and another from your credit card company.

4. Make every attempt to use companies that offer a money back guarantee when joining work at home programs. There are some good online companies that do not offer money back guarantees, basically because they have people abusing the refund policy. Many will sign up get the information and ask for a refund whether the program works or not. They make it bad for all of us.

Think about it. If you sign up with a company and there are many that offer a money back guarantee, pay by PayPal or a credit card you will have multiple levels of protections. In some cases as many as three levels.

Many people don't realize that both PayPal and credit card transactions typically offer levels of protections when purchasing goods and services online. I have used both to reverse transactions from either bad purchases, items that did not work and even companies that went out of business immediately after I purchased a product. It was very easy to use. You will need to check with either PayPal or your individual credit card company for their particular terms and policies.

In regards to doing research I recommend using a website like mine, but not necessarily mine, that have done some level of research for you or be prepared to spend the many hours doing it yourself. It is very important.
