The first step one should take if interested in contact lens is to see your eye doctor. You will be given an eye exam to determine if contacts would be right for your eyes and the prescription you would need.

A contact lens eye examine is different than your regular eye exam for glasses. This test will include internal and external testing of your eyes. You will be checked for glaucoma. Once you have completed your eye exam you will be given a prescription that is suitable for contacts or eye glasses.

It's then left up to you on which you prefer. The regular exam which one receives for eyeglasses can't be used for individual's desiring to wear contacts. Some people often wear contacts in the business part of life and lay back at night and read with their eye glasses. This gives the cornea time to take in extra oxygen.

Now you have many choices to choose from since you have completed your eye exam. There are many options that your doctor has taken into consideration for you:

1. What's your prescription?

Usually everyone can wear contacts. It makes no difference whether you are nearsighted; farsighted; require bifocals; or have astigmatism. Are you ready to experience a change in your lifestyle?

2. What's your sport?

You want to be able to enjoy your sports or improve your performance. It is essential that one talk with their eye doctor about all the precautions one should take to promote safety in the sports they are involved in while wearing contact lens.

3.What risk may one encounter?

Once you have made the final decision to wear contact lens your doctor will help you in deciding which prescription best matches your everyday lifestyle. You'll have many choices to choose from that are now available for individuals desiring to wear contact lens. There is a variety of different brands of contact lens to choose from. Eye care is essential when wearing contacts.

4. Contact lens care:

Once you receive your contacts, you will be shown how to care for them. This will help to protect your eye health and vision. You will be given reading material on the products you can use for cleaning your contact lens and the proper handling procedures.

Why not invest in contact lens and rid yourself of those eyeglasses that tend to slide down your nose in the most difficult times? Your entire facial expression will change once you start wearing contact lenses. It's up to you to take the first step to a clearer view on life.
